So here goes my very first Korean movie of year 2012. Just watched it yesterday on KBS World. I wasn't expecting for this movie, came back from dinner with the girls and while waiting for my 2d1n show, tada!!
At the beginning, there's this Japanese housewife Noriko who'd decided to fly to Seoul, Korea on her own and participated in a k-pop singing audition, to inspire her bullied teenage daughter. She was a terrible singer but the PD-workers had decided to keep her in the singing competition it'd be interesting for the show.
Kim Minha (Lee Hongki)
She met this really talented boy in the audition, Kim Minha. His soulful singing really impressed her, and she believed that if he could teach her singing, she'd win to the final round. Since Minha needs quite some cash in hand to buy his dream guitar, he rented off his room to this Ahjumma and taught her a few singing skill是. He helped her passed through the 2nd round of audition, with FT Island song - '사랑사랑사랑'
but the same time he failed himself in the competition. Disappointedly, he'd decided to quit singing and do nothing.
Minha failed in the competition. :(
Noriko, almost the age of his mother took the role to convince Minha back to singing. (Minha lost his dad in an accident, and his mom died when he was 15. he only stays with his grandma & jobless uncle) When Minha was bullied by some peers, Noriko stood up for him, which really touched his heart. Later he realised that Noriko had Lung Cancer but none of her family mambers know about it. He told her that she should keep living her dream by winning the competition, and she should let her husband to deal with her problem-kid Miyuki.
A year later, when she's back with her family in Japan and Minha has become a band singer 'Island'. He went to Japan and visit Noriko, as she had not return to Seoul to visit them as she promised. Minha's just appreciate for her appearance that has changed his life.
Minha after became a top K-pop band singer.

This might kinda be another typical Korean drama/movie with pretty boys and girls, but I like the story behind it. Plus, Hongki has that super cute blink blink eyes and adorable face, kan? I must say that his acting skill has improved AAAAAAA LOOOOOOTTTTTT.
At first I had the impression that this boy can't really sing in reality, but i was wrong. He has this beautiful voice, awesome singing skill, but I don't get it why can't he do the same when he sings in FT Island. >.<
